ExoIQ

Intelligent ergonomics for modern industrial workplaces

Efficient joining – physical relief.

The combination of powerful GESIPA® riveting tools and the body-supporting exoskeletons from exoIQ ensures ergonomically optimised industrial connection technology.

exoIQ GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 2017 and is part of the TTS-Festool Group. The company's goal is to support people in industrial workplaces with intelligent exoskeletons and reduce physical

strain – especially during overhead work or work in awkward positions. Development and research take place in Hamburg, while production is located in Bavaria.

The challenge

Assembly work with rivet tools, especially in overhead applications or hard-to-reach areas, places high demands on precision, repeatability and physical resilience.
Repeated handling, especially with heavy tools, leads to fatigue and long-term health problems for the musculoskeletal system.
The combination of GESIPA® tool technology and exoIQ exoskeletons offers an intelligent solution for maximum performance with minimum strain.

Stronger together:

Rivet tools from GESIPA® and exoskeletons from exoIQ

The active shoulder exoskeleton S700 offers targeted relief here: it actively supports the arms, takes over static holding work and thus noticeably reduces muscle strain. The result: less fatigue, consistently high precision and a significantly lower risk of long-term damage.

GESIPA® tools are designed for intensive continuous use in industry and trade. In combination with an exoskeleton, physically demanding tasks can be performed for longer, more safely and more healthily – ideal for series assembly and applications with a high repetition frequency.

At trade fairs and events, we demonstrate how the combination of the S700 active shoulder exoskeleton and our rivet tools makes demanding overhead applications a realistic experience. This clearly shows how ergonomic relief, high precision and optimised assembly processes work together ideally.

Products used

exoIQ GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 2017 and is part of the TTS-Festool Group. Our mission: to support and empower people in industrial workplaces and protect them from physical injury. We develop intelligent support systems that are changing the future of work for the better – ergonomically, efficiently and sustainably.
With roots in a university research project at Helmut Schmidt University, we have been researching exoskeletons since 2014. Today, we employ over 30 people and are committed to ‘Made in Germany’: development in Hamburg, production in Illertissen (Bavaria).

Since 1955, GESIPA® has stood for the highest quality, innovation and precision in blind rivet technology. As part of the internationally active SFS Group, we develop and produce high-quality riveting tools, blind rivets and blind rivet nuts for industrial applications – with a focus on the requirements of the retailer area, industry and the automotive sector.
Our products are ‘Made in Germany’ and used worldwide when it comes to reliable, durable and process-safe connections. We offer not only tools, but also complete system solutions – from consulting to after-sales support.

Technology that connects – and relieves strain.

Overhead work with rivet tools places a high physical strain on the body – especially when heavy tools are used regularly. The active shoulder exoskeleton S700 specifically relieves strain on the arms and shoulders, reduces fatigue and prevents long-term discomfort.

In combination with the cordless GESIPA® battery-powered rivet tools, this creates an ergonomically designed unit: more stability, more precision, less physical strain – for efficient and healthy assembly processes.
