Pressure plate blind rivet for the
Construction industry, with DIBT registration
This was followed in 1999 by a further expansion of the warehouse and machinery capacity.
Another example is in the USA. The purchase of Olympic Fastening Systems Inc. in 1990 led to rapid expansion. We are thus now producing customer-specific special dimensions at two locations, as well as the entire range of standard and PolyGrip® rivets and, of course, to the current Standard IFI 114. Our specialties are the Bulb-Tite blind rivet (with pressure lugs), produced in the USA, which are ideal for joining soft and brittle materials together, and the high-performance Mega-Grip® blind rivet.
As you can see, different countries have different requirements. We are now producing worldwide at seven locations, adapting our products to meet the specific requirements of each market but always to the high-quality standards that are defined in Germany. Another contribution that has now become indispensable is that of the GESIPA sales organization. Our subsidiaries in Austria, Poland, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, as well as foreign sales offices and agents in many other countries, have carried the success of blind-riveting technology all over the world.
First things first: we are very proud of our “offspring” companies, and all the happier that there are now so many of them. As is usual in families, each “offspring” is unique, has his own needs, and creates special requirements.
For example, GESIPA Blind Riveting Systems in Keighley, England, mainly produces blind rivets from aluminum, steel, and stainless steel in British Imperial units of measurement. The British subsidiary is very successful; it was the first to be certificated by the British Standards Institute to manufacture in compliance with the criteria laid down in BSI 5750, which must have impressed British industry. In any case we doubled our manufacturing floor space in 1989 and invested in state-of-the-art production technology.
